Year 3 2025/26
Welcome to Year 3's page!
Here you will find some information about what we will be doing this half term, along with some useful information about things like reading books and PE days.
Uniform in KS2 consists of:
Boys – grey trousers/shorts, light blue polo shirt, navy blue school jumper/cardigan and black shoes.
Girls – grey skirt/dress/trousers, light blue polo shirt, navy blue school jumper/cardigan, socks or tights and black shoes.
Children will have their PE sessions every Tuesday and Thursday. On these days, children can come to school in their PE kits, consisting of a white t-shirt, black shorts and trainers.
Children will be given a specific reading day when they will read with an adult. Children are encouraged to bring in their book each day to allow them to access it in class when the opportunity arises.
Autumn 2
This half term we will be continuing our learning about the Stone Age...
We will be reading 2 new books: 'The First Drawing' and 'Live like a Hunter Gatherer.' We will be creating our own narratives and our own instruction manuals!
In maths, we will be using our White Rose Maths programme, looking at multiplication and division.
In Science we will be focussing on nutrition and diet, food waste and rocks.
In RE this half term, we will be looking at the theme of Prophecy and Promise.
We will be thinking more about what we see in church, the different parts of the mass and then looking forward to Advent.
In Computing we will be working on an introduction to scratch.
In Spanish we will be learning how to converse about different times in the year, including the months of the year and different celebrations.
In PE this half term, we will be working on striking and fielding with Mr Mee and gymnastics with Mrs Wassin.
In Art and DT we will be working really hard on our enterprise project; designing and making our very own vegetable tarts! We will be selling these to raise money for Caritas; a local charity supporting those in need.
In PSHE we will be beginning our work on our new Ten Ten curriculum.
