Year 6 2025/26

Welcome to our Year 6 Class page!

As we prepare for SATs, it’s more important than ever that we identify and support any areas where your child may need a little extra help. To support this, children will receive weekly homework every Wednesday, to be returned by Monday. Over the year, these tasks will cover a range of subjects across the curriculum, with a focus on:

  • Reading comprehension

  • Grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Arithmetic and mathematical reasoning

Spelling & Reading

  • Daily reading is non-negotiable. Reading records should be brought into school every day and signed weekly - Reading together at home not only boosts confidence and vocabulary but also inspires imagination. Children can choose a book from our library or a book from home!

PE Days

PE will take place every Thursday and Friday. Any changes will be posted on Class Dojo in advance. Please ensure your child has the correct kit:

Appropriate clothing must be worn for all PE activities (black/navy shorts, a plain white t-shirt, and jogging pants may be worn in cold weather).

Indoors: - No jewellery, bare feet or black pumps, black or navy shorts, white shirt, or leggings may be worn under shorts.

Outdoors: - No jewellery. Trainers, shorts (leggings may be worn under shorts) and t-shirts (tracksuit/joggers in certain conditions).
